Goa Pradesh Congress dissolves all 40 blocks

PANAJI: In a major reconstitution exercise, Congress party here today dissolved all the 40 blocks giving their charge to respective Pradesh Congress Committee General secretary in-charges.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President John Fernandes issued the order of dissolving all the blocks en mass, and announced that they would be reconstituted by first week of September, this year.

"PCC has dissolved all the 40 Block of Goa Pradesh. General Secretaries of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee in-charge of respective blocks would function as the coordinators until the blocks are reconstituted," stated the order.

Congress party in the state is currently undergoing a overhaul with the party leadership suspending few of its senior leaders including former power minister Aleixo Sequeira for giving anti-party statements.
