Goa Pollution Control Board to monitor noise levels during Diwali
GSPCB has said that they will monitor noise levels at several locations across the state to ensure that SC guidelines on noise levels are adhered to.

PANAJI: The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has said that they will monitor noise levels at several locations across the state to ensure that Supreme Court guidelines on noise levels are adhered to.
GSPCB Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha said today that the noise levels would be monitored and a report compiled will be sent to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.
"During Diwali (on all four days), we will monitor the noise pollution levels at various locations. Our staff are geared up to monitor the noise levels and compile a report," Noronha said.
Both the Supreme Court as well as the Bombay High Court have ordered a strict implementation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control), Rules 2000 which have been amended and updated in 2010.
