Goa government has offered various incentives to lure Information Technology companies to set up their ventures into the state, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Thursday.

PANAJI: Goa government has offered various incentives to lure Information Technology companies to set up their ventures into the state, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Thursday.
In a written reply to a question on the floor of the House, Information Technology Minister Dayanand Narvekar, stated that various incentives, including reimbursement of stamp duty, incentive for employment to locals, rebate in power tariff, incentives to promote research activities, reimbursement of certification charges and incentives to training institutions for training and placement, are offered to the companies.
He said that Goa's IT Policy, 2005, has listed all the incentives and subsidies.
About the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat, proposed to be set up at Panaji's outskirt, Narvekar said they have received a good response from various companies.
Narvekar said that basic infrastructure for the project would be ready in next nine months.
According to the written reply on the floor of the House, 30 companies have applied to set up their ventures at Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat.
