Goa Congress to introspect Lok Sabha poll results

"This meeting of office bearers of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee resolves to introspect on the results of Goa election to Lok Sabha 2014 in all seriousness and depth," reads the resolution adopted by GPCC.
The party lost in both the constituencies to BJP candidates, who won by whopping margins.
The resolution, a copy of which is with PTI, also acknowledged the efforts by GPCC chief John Fernandes and his team for their hard work to strengthen the party in spite being appointed few months before the election.
The meeting was chaired by GPCC senior vice president Moti Desai as Fernandes was in Delhi.
The members also expressed full faith in the party leadership and pledged support to strengthen it at grass root level and to prepare for the next Assembly elections.
In yet another resolution, the party members expressed their full faith in the leadership of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
"This meeting of office bearers also appreciates the Congress President and Vice President for accepting the responsibility for the party's worse debacle in recently held LS polls," the resolution reads.
The GPCC said that "the leadership of (Congress) President and Vice President is all the more necessary at this crucial juncture to strengthen the secular base of the nation."
