Goa cabinet reshuffle: Kamat says coordination panel to decide
Hours after the Congress Legislative party decided not to reshuffle portfolios in the Digamber Kamat led government, the Chief Minister on Friday said it is entirely for the coordination committee to decide on the matter.
"The CLP has expressed its sentiments and we will accept whatever the coordination committee, comprising of NCP and Congress national leaders, decides," Kamat said.
The CLP last night held a meeting in which it was decided that none of the ministers should be dropped from the cabinet. The meeting also opined against reshuffling of portfolios in the seven-month-old Digamber Kamat led government.
"I can't tell you anything at this juncture. We will soon hold meeting of coordination committee which will decide on the issue," Kamat said.
The Chief Minister, who survived the second political coup is finding himself in a comfortable situation after Save Goa Front, a regional outfit led by Churchill Alemao, merged itself with the Congress.
The merger boosted the Congress strength from 16 to 18 in the 40 seat legislative assembly.
