Give me proof of anti-party activities: Kirti Azad to Amit Shah
NEW DELHI: Underlining himself as a "loyal soldier of BJP since 1993", suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad on Friday shot off a letter to party president Amit Shah requesting "proofs" of his anti-party activities so that he can clear those allegations against himself.

While his letter to Shah on Friday didn’t sound confrontationist, the suspended BJP MP has indicated that he continue his battle against "DDCA corruption" and sought to confirm from BJP president that DDCA Corruption falls out of the purview of BJP.

"As you have not mentioned DDCA corruption (in suspension letter), I believe that the party has nothing to do with this matter and is purely out of its preview," Azad had written in what is being seen as his attempt to underline his commitment to expose the alleged bungling in DDCA’s financial matters during the time when Arun Jaitley was its chief.

Suspended Darbhanga MP, however, reiterated that he remained a BJP member and maintained that he has no intention to embarrass the party.

"I have been a loyal soldier of BJP since 1993 when I was elected as MLA from New Delhi constituency. There has not been a single instance or blemish in my association with BJP, which has given me every opportunity to work within the party constitution. I reiterate that I remain a loyal worker of BJP and have no intention of causing embarrassment to my party or to indulge in any anti-party activity," Azad said in his letter to Shah.

In this context, Azad has sought specific proof from BJP chief about instances of indiscipline and anti-party activities, which was leveled against him in suspension order.

"In all fairness and in keeping with the tenets of equity, I look forward to being provided an opportunity to clear my name on the serious charges of having acted against the party’s interests. I request you to kindly provide me at the earliest, instances and proof that I have indulged in anti-party activities, so that I can clear the air and provide you with answers to your satisfaction, confirming that I have neither acted against the party’s constitution nor against the interests of our party," Azad demanded in his letter.
