LONDON: India's Sports Minister M S Gill met with Britain's Minister for of Olympic Games Tessa Jewel and the Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma here and held detailed discussions on the preparations of the event.
Gill said it was a "very beneficial meeting" with Ms Jewel and he would send two or three more officials to London for further detailed discussions.
The discussion centred around the preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the nature of funds made available for the Games.
Gill told PTI that he was keen to ensure that preparations for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi 2010 should be completed by September-October next year and authorities in London are keen to have the facilities in London by 2010.
During his discussions with the Commonwealth Secretary General, he said, Sharma was keen to discuss the Commonwealth Youth programme. Commonwealth Youth would meet in Colombo shortly.
