NEW DELHI: After arresting former director general of Kolkata-based Ordnance Factory Board Sudipto Ghosh, the CBI is now scrutinising agreements with defence firms during his tenure from 2007 to 2009.

Ghosh, a 1971-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Services , was arrested by the CBI earlier this week. The agency also claimed to have recovered nearly Rs 2 crore in cash and jewellery from his possession. CBI sources said the agreements reached during Ghoshs tenure need to be reviewed, especially one with a foreign firm. Rana, according to the FIR, paid Ghosh Rs 40 lakh at a prestigious club in south Delhi, the sources said.
The CBI was also probing the hawala transactions allegedly indulged into by Ghosh as the agency claimed that he had brought in $10,000 (Rs 5 lakh) sent allegedly by his son, who is a non-resident Indian in Singapore.
