Sita Soren, BJP leader and daughter-in-law of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Shibu Soren, is reportedly seeking a return to the JMM after losses in both the 2024 Lok Sabha and November 2023 assembly elections. Having joined the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sita contested the Dumka seat but was defeated by JMM. She also lost to Congress in the Jamtara assembly constituency during the November polls.

Rumors of Sita Soren's possible return to the JMM have been circulating in Jharkhand's political circles for months. On Thursday, she praised the Hemant Soren-led JMM government, especially lauding the Maiya Samman scheme, which she said had earned the approval of women across the state. In a guarded statement, she noted that the government would do even more in the future.

Sources suggest that the JMM is waiting for approval from Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife, MLA Kalpana Soren, before making any moves. As the situation is largely considered a family matter, other party leaders have remained silent.

In a separate development, Sita Soren filed a complaint on Friday accusing her personal assistant, Debashish Manoranjan Ghosh, of pulling a gun on her during a staff meeting about her electoral losses. The state administration acted swiftly, arresting Ghosh shortly after the incident.
