German woman sought to withdraw complaint in rape case.

PANAJI: German woman, who had accused Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrette's son Rohit of raping her minor daughter, on Sunday sought to withdraw her complaint in the rape case.

She has reportedly submitted a letter of intent to the police, stating that she was fed up with the ���attitude of the authorities���, hence she has decided to withdraw the rape case.

The lawyer of German woman told media, ���My client is fed up with the harassment by the authorities. Despite being the victims, she and her daughter, are being treated like accused by the authorities.���

The accused Rohit is currently in police remand.

The 21-year-old son of the minister has been accused of raping a 14-year-old German girl. The girl's mother, in a complaint filed with Calangute Police, had charged Rohit with raping her daughter.

The complaint was filed on October 2 and police booked Rohit on October 14. Since then, he had gone into hiding and appeared on November 1. He was arrested on November 4.

Police had already conducted a medical examination on the girl which had confirmed the rape. The girl in her statement had also named Rohit.
