German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visits Metro, says 'impressed' by political will
NEW DELHI: German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier today surveyed the construction work at Delhi Metro's underground Hauz Khas station and said he was very impressed by the political will of the Centre to complete civic infrastructure in the national capital.

"We are really impressed about the political will and technical know-how to complete the infrastructure in Delhi and we are very happy that German companies are working with you, the technicians and workers in India," Steinmeier, who is visiting New Delhi from September 6 to 8, said.

The Minister was flanked by German Ambassador to India Michael Steiner and other officials, besides a batch of German media persons.

Steinmeier visited the ongoing underground construction work at the Hauz Khas Metro Station, where the tunnelling process is underway at 33 metre besides the already existing station.

Herrenknecht, a German company, has provided tunnel boring machines (TBM) to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the construction work under phase three of construction for Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden line.
