Garbage bins become easy place to plant explosives
Garbage bins kept at public places today emerged as the bearers of most of the five serial bomb blasts which rocked the national capital.
In a majority of the cases, bombs were kept in the litter-boxes to avoid suspicion and create panic among people.
A number of casualties were feared from Barakhamba Road in central Delhi, where one of the bombs placed in the garbage bin, went off.
Another bomb kept in the dustbin at the crowded Central Park in Connaught Place went off.
Police sources said the blasts took place at three places -- Karol Bagh, Connaught Place and Greater Kailash -- almost simultaneously at around 6:40 pm.
The first explosion rocked Gaffar market area of Karol Bagh in Central Delhi at 6.15 PM. This was followed by three blasts in Connaught Place area and two in Greater Kailash in South Delhi.
Police also found a live bomb near Regal cinema in Connaught Place.
In the past, terrorist had chosen items like tiffin-boxes and bicycles for planting bombs.
