Ganesh festival committee renames itself after Anna Hazare

The organising committee has been consecrating the idol of Lord Ganesh since decades at Police Lines area near Police Head Quarters under the aegis of "Ganesh Utsav Samiti".
However, the organisers, mostly comprising of youth, are so inspired by the anti-graft crusader's cause that they have re-christened the name of the committee to "Anna Utsav Samiti".
"All of us were so inspired by the Hazare's movement against corruption that we have decided to rename our samiti as Anna Utsav Samiti," President of the samiti, Shibu Thapa told PTI.
The samiti also prominently mentioned in bold letters that their samiti is "Bharstachar Rahit Samiti" (corruption free committee).
When asked to elaborate on the purpose behind the move, one of the committee members said this was done to ensure that nobody misuses the funds collected for the purpose of the festival which culminated today.
