NEW DELHI: UPA ally RJD on Thursday joined hands with Samajwadi Party and Opposition BJP to demand the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit for her remarks on the presence of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the national capital.
As soon as the House assembled, members belonging to SP trooped into the well raising slogans against Dikshit, while RJD members, led by Devendra Prasad Yadav, demanded her resignation.
BJP members also stood up in protest with Shahnawaz Hussain and some others joining SP members in the well. The RJD members too joined them.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, while asking members to return to their seats, said Dikshit had apologised for her remarks.
But his repeated pleas to allow normal business went unheeded as members continued the slogan-shouting in the well, forcing Chatterjee to adjourn the House till noon.
