From yoga to film, PM prescribes tourism pill for Uttarakhand’s developement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while campaigining for BJP in Srinagar in Uttarakhand, slammed Congress for the poor condition of the state and emphasised on the potential of tourism for the development of the state.

He said that the state has immense potential for tourism including health, yoga, adventure and even bollywood tourism apart from the usual pilgrims who come to the state to bathe in Ganga and for Char Dham yatra.

“People come here for char dham yatra and to take a dip in ganga. All Indians want to come here. This Devbhumi doesn't need to advertise to attract tourist,” he said and added that the current Centre government will also help in the development of the state.


Modi also said that the state is endowed with herbs which can change the economy of the state. PM also highlighted that the state has huge water resources.

We have a vision to develop Uttarakhand, Modi said while citing other BJP state governments in Chattisgarh, Jharkhandm, Sikkim etc to make his point.

Modi also raised OROP (One Rank One Pension) scheme which he said was not implemented by Congress. He slammed the opposition parties for criticising Surgical Strikes, saying that they have made a mockery of our defence forces.

Modi also accused the Congress of opposing the formation of Uttarakhand earlier. At the rally, Modi made fun of Congress, SP alliance.
