A fresh batch of 37 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas, amid tight security.

JAMMU: A fresh batch of 37 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas, amid tight security.

The batch comprising 27 men, 8 women and two children left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here early this morning in a bus, a police official said.

Amid tight security arrangements made by CRPF, the pilgrims would reach at the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal by this evening, he said.

Meanwhile, 419 pilgrims today left for the Buddha Amarnath Yatra in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in 11 vehicles.
