French Consulate office approached Kolkata police to step up security

KOLKATA: In the wake of terror attacks in Paris, the French Consulate office and the age old French institute Alliance Francaise in Kolkata have written to Kolkata police for a security cover. The offices have also asked for security in the school where the children of the French officials go .

the request to step up the security in the French office premises reached Kolkata Police today and the authorities are now considering the request, said a source.

A senior police official further added that they are assessing the situation now and might deploy a three tier security in the premises.
