The selection of the pilgrims would be through luck draw. A total of 77,000 residents, 1,100 senior citizens from each of the 70 assembly constituencies, will be selected every year

Initially scheme is available on five initial routes. More routes are likely be added later:
- Delhi-Mathura-Vrindavan-Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Delhi
- Delhi-Haridwar-Rishikesh-Neelkanth-Delhi
- Delhi-Ajmer-Pushkar-Delhi
- Delhi-Amritsar-Wagah Border-Anandpur Sahib-Delhi
- Delhi-Vaishno Devi-Jammu-Delhi.
- Application can be filled online through of office of divisional commissioner, MLA's office or office of Tirth Yatra Committee
- The selection of the pilgrims would be through luck draw. A total of 77,000 residents, 1,100 senior citizens from each of the 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi,will be selected every year.
- One adult attendant will be allowed to accompany the senior citizens, and that person’s expenses will also be borne by the government.
- The travel will be in air-conditioned coaches of Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation buses, and full expense of the trip will be borne by the government.
- Citizens would be covered with an insurance of Rs 1 lakh each.
- Employees of central/state/local government or autonomous bodies can't avail the scheme .
