RAIGARH: A case of fraud was registered against 48 people, including 13 former employees of the health department in Raigarh, for applying for a job in the health department submitting fake certificates, police said today.

Those booked allegedly applied or got a job in the health department submitting fake caste, education or experience certificates, Raigarh district superintendent of police Dipanshu Kabra told PTI here.

On a complaint by chief district medical officer Raigarh, G K Saxena, fraud cases were registered against 48 persons yesterday and they would be arrested soon, he said.

Of the 48, 13 had joined in various places of the district after their selection out of about 3,000 applicants for 35 posts of multi-purpose health workers in 2006, Saxena said.

However, subsequently it was found that 48 applicants had attached fake certificates, including 13, who had got the job and their services were discontinued from March 2007, Saxena added.
