Four Pak fishing boats seized near Jakhau coast

Four Pakistani fishing boats along with crew were apprehended on Sunday some 30 nautical miles west of Jakhau in Kutch district, sources said.

AHMEDABAD: Four Pakistani fishing boats along with crew were apprehended on Sunday some 30 nautical miles west of Jakhau in Kutch district, sources said.

Along with the boats, 26 crew members have also been taken into custody and are being brought back to Jakhau, the coast guard sources said.

The four boats - Al Imran, Al Bashir, Bismillah and Ab-Dullaha - had strayed 12 nautical miles into Indian waters, before they were intercepted by the Coast Guard boat ICGS Sarabhai, the sources said.

They will be handed over to the local police in Jakhau to ascertain the nationality of crew members found with the boats, they said.
