Four Assam Rifles jawan killed in an ambush in Mon district of Nagaland

Mon district is the stronghold of Khaplang faction and home turf of Khango Konyak, chairman of the outfit, who took over after the death Shangwang Shangyung Khaplang.

Earlier in 2015 Khaplang faction has carried similar attack in Changlangshu while Assam Rifles jawans were on their way.
After lull of couple of months, Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) was engaged in fierce gun battle with Assam Rifles in Mon district in Nagaland. Four men of the Assam Rifles were killed in the shootout in Aboi.

Earlier in 2015 Khaplang faction has carried similar attack in Changlangshu while Assam Rifles jawans were on their way.

Superintendent of police, Vechipa Vise told ET, “There were reports that there was encounter between Khaplang cadres and Assam Rifles around 2.30 pm on Sunday. Suspected Khaplang faction carried out the attack on Assam Rifles”

On May 3, 2015 eight Assam Rifles jawans were killed and four injured, one militant belonging to Khaplang faction was also killed in an ambush in Changlangsu.
