Vijay Sai Reddy to launch new political party in Andhra Pradesh on September 7

Former YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy is set to launch a new party in Andhra Pradesh. Reddy, a close associate of former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, quit the party in January 2025. At the time, he had said he would retire from politics to pursue his own interests.

Reddy announced in a post on X that he would address a press conference in Vijayawada on September 7. "Apart from raising the issues faced by people of Andhra, I will highlight how the prevailing two-party model is failing to reflect the will, aspirations and interests of the common man," Reddy told ET.

"It has become a two-family rule in Andhra and there is a need for an alternative party that works for the people and puts their interests at the centre of governance," he said.

Reddy said he would launch a new party and work to offer people an alternative to break the hegemony of two families. To begin with, he will address four press conferences, starting with Vijayawada on September 7. He will hold three more conferences in Tirupati, Anantapur and Vishakhapatnam.
