Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya serious, to be hospitalised soon
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on Saturday was reportedly in a critical health condition. The 79-year-old politician is likely to be hospitalised soon.

In 2020, the CPI(M) leader was hospitalised soon after his breathing-related problems had aggravated.
Bhattacharya, who was the chief minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, has been suffering from breathing problems and other old age-related ailments for quite some time. He also served as the deputy chief minister of the state in 1999.
He was an important functionary of the Vietnam Solidarity Committee in the late sixties.
The political stalwart had stepped down from the CPI(M)'s politburo, the central committee as well as the state secretariat in 2018.
