Sources said 74-year-old Pachauri was questioned at his posh Golf Link residence here by a three-member police team which carried a questionnaire.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police on Wednesday questioned 74 year old climate expert Rajendra K Pachauri at his residence, four months after it registered a FIR against him alleging sexual harassment at workplace, stalking and criminal intimidation.

A team of Police officials questioned him for nearly two hours and forty minutes. According to sources, the Police came armed with a detailed questionnaire. The complaint to the Delhi Police was filed by a 29 year old research analyst who was working in Pachauri’s office.

ET had earlier reported that an internal complaints committee (ICC) of The Energy and Resources Institute had indicted Pachauri and found that his conduct amounted to misuse of his official position and violation of the organisation’s policy on sexual harassment. Pachauri is the Director of TERI. He is currently on leave.

The ICC t had concluded that Pachauri’s actions amounted to misconduct. It recommended payment of compensation to the complainant and also initiation of disciplinary action against Pachauri.
