His post describing why the people from Kerala are the 'real Indians' has gone viral with over 36,000 likes and 24,000 shares. Keralites have in them "the quintessential qualities of Indians," Katju explains.

Katju is often seen in the thick of controversies for his ideas and views on an array of topics which do not go down well with people.



The post which begins with a very difficult question, "Who are the real Indians," goes on to give you the answer, elucidated with historical facts to substantiate his claim of Keralites being "symbolic of representing the whole of India".

"They are the real Indians, and all of us must try to emulate them and imbibe their spirit," Katju asserts, leaving no room for further argument.

Such praise for the Keralites even prompted state's chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan to respond and express his gratitude to his kind words. "Thanking Katju for his kind words," Vijayan tweeted.

Whether his claims can be taken seriously or not is not even a question. For now, all the Malayalis (who are everywhere on the globe, according to Katju) are happy because of him. "Long live the Keralites," his post concludes.
