Pranab Mukherjee's condition worsens, remains on ventilator, says hospital

Mukherjee was rushed to the hospital on Monday afternoon and despite testing positive for Covid-19, doctors had to conduct a lifesaving emergency brain surgery on him to remove a large blood clot.
“The former president who underwent lifesaving emergency surgery for brain clot on August 10 has not shown any improvement and his health status has worsened. He remains on ventilator support,” a medical bulletin from the hospital said on Tuesday evening.
Mukherjee had tweeted on Monday that he had tested positive and urged people who had come in contact with him to quarantine themselves. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the Army hospital on Monday evening to check on the former President.
