Former President of Israel Shimon Peres meets Sonia Gandhi

NEW DELHI: Nobel laureate and former President of Israel Shimon Peres today met here with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The party described it as a courtesy call by Peres, who is in the country for a tri-lateral dialogue on food and water security involving India, Israel and Australia.

After his retirement from active politics, Peres has been spearheading the Peres Centre for Peace, an NGO that works in the field of Healthcare, Peace Education and Science and Technology in a world with shrinking natural resources.
