Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's ashes to be immersed in Brahmaputra and Barak rivers

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal received the urn from State BJP President Ranjeet Dass at Guwahati airport.
BJP in Assam on Wednesday brought the urns containing ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from New Delhi. This is placed at the party headquarters at Hengrabari in Guwahati for paying tribute.

The ashes will be immersed in the Brahmaputra and Barak rivers. President of the Assam unit of the BJP, Ranjit Kumar Dass received the urns from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal received the urn from State BJP President Ranjeet Dass at Guwahati airport.


Dass said, “We have received the urns of ashes from party headquarters in New Delhi. We have brought those with respect so that thousands of party leaders, workers and common people can pay their last respect to the departed leader, who was loved by one and all. On Thursday, we are going to organize a function to pay tribute to the departed leader at the campus of Karbi Yuva Sangha at Hengrabari.”
