Former Nagaland CM, TR Zeliang appears before NIA, appeals to be examined at his residence

Sources in NIA said that agency is examining Zeliang’s plea. Earlier on two occasion Zeliang was served notice by NIA however the former chief minister has cited his inability to appear before NIA as the assembly session was underway.
Last week NIA arrested three Government Officials of Nagaland in connection with terror funding case.
Meanwhile, Myanmar based Khaplang faction of the NSCN has questioned as to why NIA is not probing the parallel taxation regime of NSCN-IM.
NSCN (K) spokesman Isak Sumi said in a statement posted on social media, “When has the Indian government legalised IM's extortion and taxation activities in Nagaland state? From the experiences gained all along, IM is one of the most arrogant, uncompromising, merciless and unforgiving group with prompt harsh Azha (order) when it comes to collection of money, commissions, extortion, fines etc upon the Nagas in Nagaland.”
