Former militant, a civilian killed by unidentified assailants

A senior police officer, who do not want to be named, said that role of DNLA is suspected behind the incident. This may be the first major offensive by the DNLA that was floated in 2019.

GUWAHATI: Former militant of erstwhile extremist group Dima Halim Daogah (DHD) and a civilian were on Thursday killed by unidentified assailants in Kharnaidsha area of Karbi Anglong.

Amit Dimasa- the former rebel- and the civilian identified as Alta Maibongsha had attended a local festival when the group of assailants attacked them.

A senior police officer, who do not want to be named, said that role of DNLA is suspected behind the incident. This may be the first major offensive by the DNLA that was floated in 2019.


Amit has surrendered in 2003.
