NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested former journalist Santanu Saikia who runs the news website Indianpetro.com, and Prayas Jain the CEO of Metis Business Solutions Pvt Ltd in connection with the probe into alleged leak of petroleum ministry documents to corporates. Police sources said the two could have been among the alleged recipients of the stolen documents.

Saikia was questioned last night after the persons arrested in the matter on Thursday revealed his role in the matter. He had earlier worked with a national publication and runs the petroleum industry centric website for several years now.

The Delhi Police, after arresting five persons on Thursday including two lower level government employees, said they obtained copies of documents from the Ministry of Petroleum and sold them to private companies in the petrochemical and the energy sector as well as a private consultancy in the energy sectors. Officials of many corporates are being questioned on allegations of reviewing the said documents, and more arrests are likely today.
