SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today criticised Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's reported statements asking Muslims to give up eating beef if they wished to stay in India.

"We (Muslims) get a ticket to Pakistan, where do the Goa Christians get sent?" Omar wrote in response to a question on social networking site Twitter.

Veteran journalist Shekhar Gupta, in response to Khattar's statement that appeared in a leading national daily today, tweeted, "Will someone please ask BJP Chief Minister of Goa if his Christians also have to give up beef if they wish to continue living in India?"

Omar responded to Gupta's tweet saying: "Good question. I bet you won't get an answer!".
