Former Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’s (DIPP) secretary Ramesh Abhishek has joined the board of engineering technologies firm Cyient. The retired bureaucrat and reformer, who had served the government for over 37 years and instrumental in government’s initiatives like Make in India, Startup India and Invest India, said he found Cyient’s vision of supporting indigenous innovation, design and manufacturing aligned with the government’s greater objectives. In his long tenure as bureaucrat, he had played key roles in leading governance, public policy, competitiveness, regulatory & judicial Reforms, policy design & implementation, intellectual property rights, investment promotion and facilitation, institution building, among many others.
