NEW DELHI: Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a dig at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over the latter's dog video.

Earlier in the day, Rahul posted a video on Twitter of his dog being fed biscuits and wrote, "Ppl been asking who tweets for this guy..I`m coming clean..it`s me..Pidi..I`m way ?? than him. Look what I can do with a tweet..oops..treat!"

Sharma responded to Rahul Gandhi's 'dog' tweeting on his behalf, and said that Gandhi was busy feeding the dog when the Assam government wanted to discuss urgent issues of the state.

In the video, Rahul can be heard encouraging the pooch named Pidi to do 'Namaste', at which it stands up on it haunches. Placing a doggie treat on Pidi's muzzle, he instructs it to stay. Then, at the snap of his fingers, the treat disappears right into the pupper's mouth with a skillfull twitch of its head and Rahul exclaims, "Good boy!"

Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma left Congress Party to join BJP in 2015 over ideological differences. BJP had benefited immensely as the election results in the state had indicated.
