Former Congress MP Prem Chand Guddu was today sentenced to six months imprisonment for misbehaving with a police officer in 2004.

UJJAIN: Former Congress MP Prem Chand Guddu was today sentenced to six months imprisonment by a local court for preventing a police officer from discharging her duty at a temple here in 2004.

However, he was later granted bail. Guddu had misbehaved with woman sub-inspector Vimla Yadav in the Mahakelshwar temple premises in 2004 following which a case was registered against him.

The six-month sentence was awarded by First Class Magistrate under IPC section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty).

The court later released Guddu on bail.
