Former Chhattisgarh NCP chief rejoins Congress

Former NCP state unit chief Nobel Verma today returned to the Congress fold ahead of the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls scheduled later this year.

RAIPUR: Former NCP state unit chief Nobel Verma today returned to the Congress fold ahead of the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls scheduled later this year.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) treasurer Motilal Vora formally welcomed Verma at Congress Bhawan here.

Verma had successfully fought 2003 Assembly election from Chandrapaur constituency on Nationalist Congress Party's ticket. He was an MLA in the 90-member Assembly between 2003- 08. Verma had resigned from NCP in January after losing the Assembly elections in 2008.
