Former Bihar minister Kamal Paswan is dead

Paswan (60) is survived by his wife, two sons and as many daughters.
His mortal remains would be consigned to flames at the Sikandarpur cremation ground here later in the day with full state honours.
Paswan was elected to the Bihar Assembly thrice in 1977, 1990 and 1995. He was also state president of the then ruling RJD in 1995.
Later, his relation with RJD boss and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad soured and he joined Ramvilas Paswan's LJP only to return to RJD fold a couple of months ago.
Leader of opposition Rabri Devi and state RJD president Abdul Bari Siddiqui have described Paswan's death as a great loss to the party and Bihar.
He was ''a leader belonging to the weaker section of the society and committed to the uplift of the economically and socially neglected people. The vacuum left by his demise can never be filled,'' they said in a condolence message in Patna.
Later, siddiqui left for Muzaffarpur to attend the funeral of Paswan.
