Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar meets CPI leaders

In Bihar, JD(U) and CPI had an alliance in the last Lok Sabha elections and the latter had supported the former's nominee for the Rajya Sabha elections.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar meets CPI leaders
NEW DELHI: JD(U) leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today met senior CPI leaders here and both the parties decided to work together at the national and state levels.

Kumar along with Rajya Sabha MP K C Tyagi met CPI leaders A B Bardhan and D Raja at the party's head office here and discussed the political situation at national and state levels.

"With BJP getting majority at the Centre a new situation has emerged and we have decided to work together in future and hold periodic meetings to decide political course," Raja said.

In Bihar, JD(U) and CPI had an alliance in the last Lok Sabha elections and the latter had supported the former's nominee for the Rajya Sabha elections.

JD(U) was reduced to 2 seats while CPI got only one seat in the recently held general elections.
