Pul had recently been unseated as chief minister by Pema Khandu following all the dissenting Congress MLAs coming back to the fold.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein confirmed that Pul hanged himself from a ceiling fan inside the Chief Minister’s Residence.

Pul was staying at the official residence of the Chief Minister.

Pul became the chief minister of the state in February with support of BJP. He along with his supporters joined Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA), a regional political party of Arunachal Pradesh.

He was unseated following the Supreme Court verdict and the MLAs coming back to Congress.
