Uttar Pradesh election results: Forget 2019, no one can take on Modi: Omar Abdullah
NEW DELHI: The assembly election results today saw a piece of advice from Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister Of Jammu and Kashmir. "At this rate we might as well forget 2019 & start planning/hoping for 2024," Abdullah tweeted.

Abdullah praised Modi for his leadership skills. He said "In a nutshell, there is no leader today with a pan India acceptability who can take on Modi and the BJP in 2019."

Abdullah suggested, "BJP isn't unbeatable but strategy needs to shift from criticism to positive alternative. Criticising the PM will only take us so far. The voter needs to know there is an option available to them that has a clear positive road map."

"How the hell did almost all the experts/analysts miss this wave in UP? It's a tsunami not a ripple in a small pond." he said.

Omar's remarks came as BJP cruised towards victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand while the Congress was ahead in Punjab and Manipur in the assembly polls.
