Forex exchange facility for foreigners extended till Dec 31
The previous deadline for this exemption was December 15. The central bank extended it to make their stay more comfortable amid centre's demonetisation drive.

Foreigners can now convert foreign exchanges into Indian currency up to a limit of Rs 5,000 per week till December 31, Reserve Bank of India said today.
Soon after the announcement of demonetisation scheme, foreigners are allowed to exchange foreign currency up to a limit of Rs 5,000 per week till December 15.
The central bank has now extended the facility to make their stay more comfortable amid centre's demonetisation drive.
Foreigners are told to avail this weekly limit submitting a self-declaration that this facility has not been availed of during the week.
"The authorised person shall keep the passport details and the above declaration on record," RBI said.
Government had demonetised old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on November 8.
