Forces launch search operations in pulwama

The massive operation triggered clashes during which armed forces fired bullets, pellets and tear gas canisters, injuring several civilians.

As per officials, troopers from the Army’s 55 RR, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group of J&K police laid siege to around 15 villages to carry out door-to-door searches.
The armed forces launched a crackdown in several villages of Pulwama in southern Kashmir, triggering protests, during which a ‘civilian’ was killed.

The ‘civilian, who received bullet injuries in the head, was identified as Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Chewa Kalan’. He was shifted to the district hospital, but doctors referred him to SMHS hospital in Srinagar, where he was declared as brought dead.

The forces launched a cordonand-search operation in over a dozen villages of Pulwama district, suspecting militant movement in these villages. As per officials, troopers from the Army’s 55 RR, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group of J&K police laid siege to around 15 villages to carry out door-to-door searches.


The villages under Army cordon included Rohmu, Below, Mitrigam, Gasu, Chek, Mirgund, Sheikhpora, Hanjan, Frasipura and Kamrazipura. The massive operation triggered clashes during which armed forces fired bullets, pellets and tear gas canisters, injuring several civilians.
