For Nitin Nabin, it's work, meetings and greetings

New Delhi: A week since his appointment as BJP's national working president, Nitin Nabin has been a very busy man. A leader, who till last week preferred to work without making much noise about it and keeping a low profile, meeting party leaders, accepting greetings and addressing party workers regularly marking a significant shift in his role.

On Tuesday, Nabin reached Patna where he was welcomed by the senior BJP leaders of Bihar and thousands of party workers. The state BJP leadership organised a 6kms-long roadshow from the Patna airport for him. With Nabin on an open truck were two Bihar deputy CMs - Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha and Bihar president Sanjay Saraogi. Nabin is returning to Delhi on Wednesday.

During the first week, the new BJP working president met senior party leaders, including veteran BJP leader LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi to take blessings. He also met PM Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Bhupendar Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He also attended two meetings, one at the residence of Union minister Kamlesh Paswan with party MPs from Uttar Pradesh and another at the residence of BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal with Bihar NDA leaders.


Nabin also met vice president CP Radhakrishanan and former president Ram Nath Kovind after taking over the new role.

After taking charge, he held two meetings at the party office, one with office bearers and staff at the party headquarters and another with party general secretaries. BJP general secretary Dushyant Gautam has been attached to Nabin to look after his meetings.

Several chief ministers of NDA-ruled states, including N Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh, Nayab Singh Saini from Haryana, Pushkar Dhami from Uttarakhand and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta also met Nabin.
