For middle class, we need to change our thinking: Narendra Modi

Replying to a question on his government's schemes for the middle class, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, as far as the middle class is concerned, we need to change our thinking towards them.

Middle class never lives on someone’s mercy. They live with dignity and is that strata of the society which contributes the most when it comes to running the country, emphasised Modi.

Speaking on the steps taken for the middle class Modi said, with schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Udaan Yojna and other such initiatives taken by the railways it is the middle class that will benefit as it will create employment.


The biggest beneficiary of Mudra Yojana is the middle class. If the middle class wants a loan to build a house they never got relief from banks but after demonetization, people get relief of 5-6 Lakh. A startup ecosystem has been promoted which is being driven by the middle class, added Modi.

Speaking on the importance of middle class, Modi stated that the middle-class is always involved in the development of a nation.

Recalling the period when inflation touched 18%, he said that the government has brought it down to 2-3% and the biggest and straight benefit goes to the middle class.
