PUDUCHERRY: Food subsidy would be credited in accounts of beneficiaries in nationalised banks as per the provisions of the National Food Security Act, a top Puducherry government official today said.

Director of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs P.Priyadharshny in a release appealed to red colour ration card holders to ensure that their aadhar numbers were seeded into the accounts in nationalised banks.

She said the directorate has kept in abeyance the work of bifurcation of family ration cards, issue of new cards and addition of new names in the cards till December this year for administrative reasons.

However the work of linking aadhar and bank account numbers, change of address, deletion of names from the cards and acceptance of surrender of cards would continue without break, she said.
