A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has started operations on Sunday. Around 20 people died in Joumol village in the landslide.

Following cyclone Komen, floods hit Manipur
GUWAHATI: Following cyclone Komen the Northeastern state of Manipur is reeling under floods.

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has started operations on Sunday. Around 20 people died in Joumol village in the landslide on Saturday .

Several areas of the state are under the grip of massive floods. NDRF team was air dashed to Imphal.Assam Rifles have started the rescue operations.Flooding is triggered by incessant rains in the state. Around 8 bridges have been washed away in Thoubal and Chandel districts.

Parts of Imphal valley are still inundated. Witnessing one the worst flooding in recent times, around one lakh people have been affected in Manipur.

The capital city of Imphal is cut off from Moreah, the border town along the Indo-Myanmar border.
