Focus is on ease of living as well as ease of doing business:PM Modi

NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Finance Minister for the decision regarding Minimum Support Price and other various provisions which were reflected in his budget.

Modi said that, he is convinced that such initiatives will help the farmers and would lead to an improvement in their lives.

PM went on to say that from food processing to fiber optics, roads to shipping, youth to senior citizen, rural India to Ayushmaan Bharat, Digital India to Start Up India, this budget strengthens hopes and aspirations of crores of Indians.


PM Modi also drew a parallel between two govt schemes, namely ease of doing business and ujjawala yojna. "Humne ease of living ki bhaavna ka vistaar ujjwala yojna mein bhi dekha hai. Ye yojna desh ke ghareeb mahilaon ko na sirf dhuyen se mukti dila rahi hai balki unke sashakrikaran ka bhi bada maadhyam bani hai",said PM Modi.

This is the government's last full budget before the general elections.

Discussing various schemes of his govt, including the construction of toilets and initiatives in the areas of housing, power and health, the prime minister emphasised that the budget devotes attention to all sectors, ranging from agriculture to infrastructure.

The govt will soon announce concrete steps to address non-performing assets (NPA) and 'stress account' issues for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, the prime minister said.
