FM failed to enthuse the people of Jharkhand

RANCHI: Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday failed to enthuse the people of Jharkhand with his budget. State deputy chief minister Raghubar Das said: “We are completely disappointed. The budget will further aggravate inflation. Farmers are not going to benefitd.”
He added that the state’s demands for a special package had been ignored. “The FM has been generous enough for the development of Bundelkhand. He should have taken care of Jharkhand too,” he said.
The BJP, which is part of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand, has termed the budget as anti-people and anti-farmer. State BJP spokesperson Sanjay Seth said: “The budget will make things costlier. Prices of food items will further rise as the government has failed to work out any mechanism to control prices.”
