Five-storey building collapses in Ghaziabad, 1 dead, several other injured
Police and fire department along with the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) have initiated the rescue and aid operation at the site.
"So far, we have pulled out one dead body and rescued one person trapped in the debris," an NDRF official told PTI.
The Ghaziabad Police tweeted that some labourers were rescued and sent to a hospital for treatment. There was no reports of more people being trapped in the collapsed structure, it said.
Police and fire department along with the NDRF have initiated the rescue and aid operations at the site.
Those injured, according to reports, are labourers who were present inside the building when it collapsed. The building was nearing completion and had not been occupied.

— ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) 1532259324000An Uttar Pradesh government spokesperson said in Lucknow, "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police of Ghaziabad to visit the site of building collapse and take immediate action for rescue, along with NDRF personnel."
Adityanath also asked the district authorities to lodge an FIR and take action against the guilty.
The incident comes within a week of a six-storey under-construction building having collapsed on another five-storey building in Greater Noida.
At least 10 people were killed earlier in the week in Shah Beri area of Greater Noida where an under construction building collapsed on another building. The builders of the construction allegedly, used poor quality material.
