Five more skeletons unearthed in Bengal

Police on Monday unearthed five more skeleton remains with their vertebrae intact in Goaltore in West Midnapur district of West Bengal.

MIDNAPUR(WB): Continuing its recovery of human skeletons, police on Monday unearthed five more skeleton remains with their vertebrae intact in Goaltore in West Midnapur district of West Bengal.

Police said the skeletons were recovered from two places in Perua Bandh area in Goaltore.

One of the skeletons has been claimed by family members of Shaukat Khan, a Trinamool Congress worker, who has been missing for one year, police said.

Family members identified the skeleton by a part of the clothing and interred it, police said.

The other skeletons have been sent for post mortem, police said.

Altogether 17 skeletons have been unearthed in West Midnapur district since June this year, police added.
